Welcome to Vigilus Home Support

We founded Vigilus Home Support in 2019 with a clear purpose: to provide a more thoughtful, precise, and elevated approach to home management and owner’s representation in the Hudson Valley.

We are based in—Rhinebeck and work primarily throughout—Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and Clinton Corners. These are the communities we know intimately and care deeply about. We often reflect on how fortunate we are to be able to build a successful business without leaving the place we call home, working alongside trusted local vendors and caring for exceptional properties just minutes from our own front door.

Drawing on decades of experience in property oversight, construction support, and complex home operations, we partner with both full-time residents and second-home owners who value discretion, reliability, and meticulous attention to detail.

Our services include full-service property management, vacation rental management, home staffing coordination, owner’s representation, and construction and renovation project management. Whether we are overseeing day-to-day operations or representing an owner through a major project, our role is always the same: to protect your interests, safeguard your investment, and simplify ownership.

The Morton’s Origin Story

Little did Caroline know that the constant debates with this overwhelmingly nice and skilled contractor were never going to end. This is the story of a fast-paced, NYC bred, female executive turned entrepreneur meeting her match in business and in life. Tim, the OCD builder and luxury home project manager was faced with strict deadlines and high standards – spending his days dealing with this new client and this demanding Owner’s rep from NYC.

After duking it out on a job for a year, we got married and merged our vision.  Named for the vigilant oversight we bring to anything we do.  We both bring extensive project management skills: Caroline brings her almost intuitive ability to understand the owner’s view and 20 years of corporate executive experience, Tim adds an equally strong knowledge of home function, construction project management and building.

We have several decades of experience in building, renovating, staffing, and managing homes, townhouses and estates for some of NYC’s most prominent families.

Caroline-Morton

Caroline Morton founded VIGILUS with a singular purpose: to consolidate home and estate management under a single purview. As a former Chief of Staff for a prestigious holding company in NYC and top-level executives and their families, she was known for her uncanny ability to intuitively see the forest in spite of the trees. Imperturbable, she has been responsible for as many as 100 staff members, overseen in-house construction projects, yacht operation and builds,  and provided concierge services to the financially elite, all while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.  After a successful career she and her family moved to the Hudson Valley to recapture some quality of life.

Caroline holds an MBA and is in the process of completing an MS in Nutrition. She lives in the beautiful Hudson Valley with her husband, two children, at least 3 cats and maintains a two-dog-minimum policy. 


Tim Morton brings to VIGILUS his experience after 4 decades on the frontline as a construction manager.  With 40 years of high-end residential building experience in Manhattan, he knows that his integrity, skill in cultivating relationships and hands-on approach have been his formula for success.  Throughout his career he has mentored exceptional projects from design inception to “flowers on the table”.  Tim has taken historical townhouses from core and shell to palatial residence and rebuilt elite Park Avenue penthouses, overseeing demolition to final finishes with acute attention to detail.  His move to the Hudson Valley may have been destiny, as an avid outdoorsman with a passion for the environment, he has spent much of his life hiking and camping in the Catskill mountains and beyond.  

Despite his love of order, Tim secretly relishes all the animals and strictly complies with Caroline’s “two-dog minimum” mandate.  Although, he suspects they may have more.
